The Foundation Diploma is a specific qualification within ACCA's Foundations in Accountancy pathway. Under the current structure, it consists of seven exams and the Foundations in Professionalism module.
What are the entry requirements for the ACCA Foundation Diploma?
There are no formal entry requirements. If you have three O-Levels, Matriculation, Intermediate, or around ten years of school education, you can register. The Foundation Diploma is the recognised fast-track route into ACCA for students without A-Levels or a university degree.
How many papers are in the Foundation Diploma?
Seven: FA1 Recording Financial Transactions, MA1 Management Information, FA2 Maintaining Financial Records, MA2 Managing Costs and Finance, FBT Business and Technology, FMA Management Accounting, and FFA Financial Accounting. All are on-demand computer-based exams.
Do I get ACCA exemptions after completing the Foundation Diploma?
Yes. Once you complete all seven exams you're automatically transferred to the ACCA Qualification with exemptions from the three Applied Knowledge exams — BT, MA and FA — so you continue directly at the Applied Skills level.
How long does the Foundation Diploma take?
There's no time limit, so you can fit study around work and life. Most students complete the Foundation Diploma in twelve to fifteen months. Because exams are on-demand CBEs, you can book each exam whenever you're ready, at any time of year.
Should I start with FA1/MA1 or go straight to FBT, FMA and FFA?
ACCA strongly recommends students without prior accounting knowledge start with FA1 and MA1, then FA2 and MA2, and finish with FBT, FMA and FFA. If you already have relevant study or work experience, book a free meeting and our tutors will advise the right entry point for you.
